Landmines are one-time use defense structures that deal light area damage. They are automatically replaced for free between each base battle. Landmines detonate when enemy land forces come into close proximity to the landmine and will only damage enemy land forces. Landmines are not triggered by and do not damage enemy air forces. Landmines are best at softening low health units such as Rangers and Tomahawks and in groups can eliminate them. Landmines are much less effective against high health units. While landmines cannot be directly targeted by units or with the flare, they can be destroyed by using Command Powers such as the A-10 Strike and the Hellfire Missile or by indirect affect area damage from Tomahawks. The best mode of their elimination is to use the Orbital Strike. Landmines can be upgraded at the Research Agency and once an upgrade is complete, all landmines are upgraded.
